WESTFIELD, IN – This weekend, some of the best high school basketball players in the country will face off at Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse. The NIKE Elite Youth Basketball League Session 2 Event April 22-24 will feature the top 40 under 17 travel basketball programs in the United States and draw high school athletes from up to 27 states, as well as more than 300 NCAA Division I coaches. This is the first year a city in Indiana has hosted a NIKE EYBL event.

“Since the thought of this Fieldhouse began, I wanted to bring a NIKE EYBL to Grand Park,” said Rod Sinn, President of Operations at Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse. “This event is not only huge for Fieldhouse, but for the state of Indiana.”

Past locations NIKE EYBL events include Hampton, Virginia; Brooklyn, New York and Atlanta, Georgia. Notable alumni of NIKE EYBL include Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony and Jahil Okafor. According to NIKE, 95 percent of alumni go on to play college basketball, 56 percent play in an NCAA championship game and 32 percent get drafted to the NBA.

The event is open to the public with an admission charge of $5 Friday; and $10 Saturday and Sunday. Spectator parking is located at Monon Trail Elementary School at 19400 Tomlinson Road. A complimentary and continuous shuttle service will be offered from Monon Trail Elementary to Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse (Shuttle Map Attached). The weekend of April 22-24 is Grand Park’s biggest weekend to date with approximately 40,000 attendees expected for events taking place at the park, which include the Nike EYBL, Crossroads of America Girls Soccer Showcase and the Bullpen Tournaments Spring Shootout Tournament.
