WESTFIELD, IN – This weekend, April 15-17, Grand Park will welcome more than 290 teams from 17 states and Canada for the Crossroads of America College Men’s Showcase. The women’s showcase will take place next weekend featuring an additional 290 teams.
The Crossroads of America Showcase offers divisions for U15-U18. Each team will play one game per day over the three-day tournament in order to allow players to maximize their talents in front of the college coaches. Approximately 22,000 spectators are expected each weekend.
This Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m., Grand Park will host Indiana University vs University of Indianapolis Men’s Soccer Teams in a friendly match on Field #1. There is a $1 donation requested as admission (proceeds benefit Indiana Fire Juniors organization). The event will feature food, fun and festivities including a beer garden.
This Saturday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m., Westfield Youth Sports Incorporated (WYSI) will be celebrating its annual Baseball and Softball Opening Day Ceremonies on D-16. Mayor Cook will welcome attendees and assist with the first pitch with Oni Davenport and Madeline Linville. The event will include the presentation of the Spencer Lancaster Award and the Westfield Police Department’s Honor Guard and Oak Trace Elementary Choir. Approximately 90 baseball and softball teams will participate in opening day.
Also taking place this weekend, April 15-17, is the Indiana Bulls Round Robin featuring 30 teams.
